UPM Raflatac is now looking for a General Manager, Mills River Factory for a permanent position starting as soon as possible. As a leader of our Mills River factory in North Carolina, USA and member of the Paper Laminates SBU Operations Management Team, the General Manager’s job will be to develop the manufacturing excellence in Mills River factory and contribute to the development work of our global network. Greetings from your future Manager "You will have a wide responsibility to develop manufacturing excellence of our factory operations in Mills River together with organization of close to 200 employees. You will be part of our global network of factory General Managers, Operations development teams and have a close contact with our business segment leaders, supply chain and sales representatives in the region. This is a great opportunity to work in a very agile business with a fast-paced working environment combined with a unique UPM Raflatac company culture." - Jani Konkarikoski, Vice President, Global Operations, Paper Laminates What you will do Oversee our Mills River production site by allocating labor and capital resources to achieve objectives, maximize productivity and manage costs Work closely and coordinate within the matrix organization including various functional areas and other facilities. Effectively communicate and manage through rapidly changing business needs Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making at senior management level to develop and implement a variety of operating policies and procedures to ensure that the site meets production targets and quality standards Execute evaluations of investments in technology, capital, equipment, systems, or other assets that will enhance the site’s production capabilities Liaise with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. vendors, partners, union representatives, media, NGOs) to manage and develop operations and corporate relations Contribute as a strong member in the Global Operations Management Team and lead the Mills River Leadership team Drive Safety and Continuous improvement culture at all levels Who you are You possess preferably a Master level degree in engineering or equivalent with minimum 7 year’s work experience You have excellent interpersonal skills, ability to foster teamwork among diverse groups and provide leadership with and without direct authority You have in-depth knowledge in manufacturing processes, preferably in labelstock or packaging with a good understand of business principles as applied to manufacturing and management of personnel You are able to navigate successfully in a matrix organization to get things done You follow through commitments and make sure others do the same You have courage to tackle tough assignments and provide direct and actionable feedback You are able to build highly effective and diverse teams You have strong leadership skills in developing the organization in the areas of: continual improvement (use of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies), coaching, empowerment and value-based culture, communication and labor relations You are able and willing to lead and implement change You are an example of integrity and independency You are fluent in English This is what we offer for you Meaningful job: We are proud of what we do.
