Job Details: Job Summary: This position is responsible for the management, maintenance and support of assigned systems. This position installs operating system patches, software upgrades, software installations, and modifications of systems to ensure systems availability to meet customer KPIs. This position typically works under general supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position may exercise discretionary and decision-making authority. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Manage and progress incident tickets and assigned tasks to completion in accordance with SLAs. Escalate to management when SLAs are likely to be breached. Maintain state of mission critical servers and services. Analyse and troubleshoot faults and make recommendations as to the most effective course of action. Provide support to other internal teams. Proactively monitor servers and related infrastructure Provide support on patching of critical servers as well as upgrades. Configure and install equipment. May troubleshoot network problems and outages; may maintain network cabling including installation. Plan, document, communicate and execute planned changes through the change management process. May provide end user training on systems if required. Provide out of hours support for scheduled work. Provide out of hours for on-call support as part of an on-call roster. Assemble and install server hardware when required. General Duties and Responsibilities: Comply with Cubic’s Quality Management System. Comply with Cubic Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures. Comply with security in accordance with established policies and procedures of the organisations. Comply with Cubic Human Resources Procedures. Other duties as requested. Minimum Job Requirements: Qualifications Degree qualified in information technology or related discipline, or equivalent experience. Industry Certification for Linux, Windows, VMware, and/or Cisco Networking. Skills/Experience/Knowledge 3 years' experience in a systems administration role preferably in a medium - large IT environment Experience hosting database environments. Experience providing high availability services. Experience supporting and building server operating systems. Server Networking skills Knowledge of LAN and WAN based technologies. Knowledge of Active Directory. Knowledge of SAN connectivity to servers. Knowledge of server and networking protocols (TCP/IP, WINS, DHCP, SMTP, ICMP, ICA, SMB). Knowledge of operating system and/or application hardening. Enterprise Backup experience. Scripting (Powershell, Python, Perl, Bash etc) Eligibility to obtain and hold an Australian Defence Industry Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance. Skilled in using Microsoft Office suite of applications. Personal Qualities Ability to travel as required and work outdoors for extended periods of time. Excellent interpersonal skills Excellent time management and organisational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High levels of customer support and service delivery. Ability to work in a high-volume environment whilst maintaining delivery and a high standard of service.
