Summary The Lead Electrical Controls Trainer is responsible for creating, delivering, and evaluating HMH product line technical training for customers and employees. Work is performed under the supervision of the Learning and Development Manager. Responsibilities: Build subject matter expertise on new and existing products through interviews with engineers, technicians, and field service personnel, and review of engineering documentation and schematics. Identify the knowledge and skill-based performance criteria that support effective training and workplace competence assessments. Identify appropriate training delivery methods based on competence requirements. Design and develop classroom and web-based training materials related to the operation and maintenance of the HMH product line equipment and software for customers, employees, and third parties. Design and develop effective performance and competence assessments to verify knowledge and skill. Apply industry best practices, methodologies, and standards to training material design and development processes and deliverables. Collaborate cross-functionally with subject matter experts to ensure all training and competence deliverables are clear, concise, and technically accurate. Deliver instructor-led technical training to customers and employees. Facilitate practical hands-on exercises in a laboratory environment. Evaluate training materials and identify opportunities for improvement. Maintain an in-depth knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements. Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the existing and new products and services. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 7 years of relevant experience). Minimum 3 years of experience developing and delivering training related to electrical control systems. Ability to interpret electrical/electronic and mechanical/hydraulic schematics and technical procedures accurately. Ability to collaborate internally and externally with all organization levels. Ability to acquire new technical skills quickly. Strong customer service skills, and responsive attitude. Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate complex technical concepts in layman’s terms. Preferred Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of experience in training development or the demonstrated ability to develop training using industry best practices. Ability to design multi-discipline technical training (i.e., mechanical/hydraulic, electrical, and software). Working knowledge of blowout prevention equipment, electro-hydraulic control systems, riser systems, and subsea wellhead connectors. Working knowledge of TCP/IP, Siemens PLC programming, Linux/QNX, SQL, and Networking MAC/IP addressing. Awareness of the Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements and practices for land and offshore drilling operations. Experience in oilfield services or equivalent environment. Proficiency in Office, Access, Articulate 360, and Adobe Creative Suite software, or equivalents. Strong organizational skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities. Certifications in training development and/or competence management best practices. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Additional Information Possible local or international travel may be required. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis, now or in the future, without employer sponsorship for employment visa status. No relocation assistance.
