Preferred Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience Experience: Knowledge and experience of purchasing functions for warehouse and marine terminal Languages: English Skills: Analytical, problem solving, time management, project management and decision making skills Licenses, software, etc: Computer skills Microsoft Office including Excel, purchasing software. Traits: Ability to work well with others, team player, self-starter, proactive, well organized Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for the daily purchasing/expediting activity for warehouse, terminal and office. Communicate daily via email and telephone with department heads and suppliers to ensure the correct items are responsibly sourced and delivered in a timely manner. Product research and identification of new or underutilized suppliers. Basic working knowledge of accounting and codes to ensure internal billing and budgeting. Provide updated information regarding suppliers/products in the Purchasing system. Receive requisitions, review quotations from vendors and award PO’s based on budgets. Responsible vendor selection and inventory. Responsible for maximizing and identifying and setting up strategic contracts with vendors to maximize discounts wherever possible. Responsible for vendor selection and inventory Perform other duties and task as required by the Director of Compliance.
