Job Details

Duration: Full Time

Overview:

  • This team is responsible for all tasks assigned by the Federal IT Asset Manager.
  • The IT Contractor Asset Management Technician provides ongoing operations support to the Federal Asset Manager, contributing to and maintaining the Agency-wide asset management system.
  • The asset management system includes asset life-cycle policies, procedures, technical troubleshooting, computer imaging, Shipping, and receiving IT equipment.
  • The work is fully performed on-site.

Duties:

  • Employs asset controls and inventory management processes to track IT assets; accountability, current location, maintenance, assigned owners, and lifecycle status using IT tools including the asset management console (CMDB).
  • Articulates Asset Management team goals and objectives provided by the Federal Asset Manager to assigned team members and coordinates with the team to accomplish tasks effectively.
  • Meets Service Level Agreements (SLA), and Operational Level Agreements (OLA).
  • Responds to IT incidents and requests received from Remedy tickets escalated from the OPM Help Desk.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve ticketed incidents involving current versions of the Microsoft operating systems, MAC OS X, Microsoft Office Suite, iOS, Active Directory, VPN, Encryption, 2-factor Authentication, and all OPM COTS and GOTS products
  • Performs hardware warranty troubleshooting and repair on agency endpoints, servers, and networking equipment.
  • Escalates tickets to Federal Asset Manager, Tier III Network, Security, or Server Engineers as required.
  • Process surplus equipment that is outside the OPM equipment lifecycle standards by having them removed from OPM facilities.
  • Prepare requested hardware and software for deployments by other IT groups; track all requests for deployment, using the Remedy asset management console and ticketing system.
  • Observe training needs and relay training needs and requests to the Federal Asset Manager and/or contract Program Manager.

  • Knowledge of the latest asset management concepts, theories, principles, practices, and techniques of configuration management, life cycle management, equipment types, and applications
  • Experience in troubleshooting/repair within desktop and networking support, IT concepts, and software applications must be able to think logically and act decisively in critical situations.
  • Image, configure and deploy workstations (desktops/laptops) and mobile devices (iPhones, iPads, etc.)
  • Experience with Remedy Ticketing and Asset Management consoles (CMDB)
  • Microsoft Active Directory basic concepts
  • Experience troubleshooting operating Systems (Windows, OS X, iOS)
  • Experience with Microsoft Deployment Tool (MDT) imaging environments
  • Knowledge of encryption tools, i.e.; Bitlocker, Credant, VPN, etc.
  • Perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and speed under pressure of time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Perform multiple tasks simultaneously, including handling interruptions, and return to and complete tasks promptly
  • Proficient knowledge of database structure with the ability to enter, manipulate, and report data.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:

A combination of the below certifications or a higher education degree in IT-related fields is required.

  • Recommended certifications:
  • ITIL v4
  • current Microsoft Associate or Expert certifications
  • HDI Desktop Advanced Support Technician
  • CompTIA A Certification
  • Microsoft 365 Certified Fundamentals certificate
  • Microsoft 365 Certified
  • Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
  • Or other equivalent certifications

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Clearable to a Public Trust (Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.)
