The Clinical Education Coordinator is an RN responsible for planning, teaching and evaluating competency and education programs for clinical staff at 21st Century Home Health. This position will be responsible for new and ongoing employee competency orientation/training including developing, implementing and evaluating the program. This position will partner with clinical leadership to promote and deliver programs that will support increased skill, knowledge and professional development. Provides expertise in the development of educational offerings. Acts as liaison with clinical leaders, local schools, and provides input as part of the team for positive staff experiences. Works alongside the leadership and providers to ensure competency validation of all clinical staff.

What you’ll do as a Clinical Education Coordinator:

  • Facilitates new employee and annual education needs assessment and competency program
  • May develop programs group specific, based on identified educational needs
  • Analyzes assessment data to determine the target audience and the learner needs.
  • Develops content of educational materials for best-practice or evidence-based practice including but not limited to course outline and curriculum
  • Identifies the general purpose and educational objectives for each learning activity as evidenced by clearly defined objectives and purpose for the learning activity
  • Evaluates effectiveness of activity and makes appropriate changes to ensure objectives are achieved
  • Uses the results of evaluation analysis to make or recommend process or structural changes, including policy, procedure, protocols, or documentation.
  • Uses evidence-based data to identify strategies for improving professional development activities and patient outcomes
  • Leads a team or committee in the development of an evidence-based protocol, procedure, policy or program.
  • Incorporate in person and virtual learning to deliver learning requirements to staff.
  • Partner with clinical leaders to promote and deliver programs that will support increased skill, knowledge and professional development
  • Provides expertise in the development of educational offerings
  • Acts as liaison with local clinical programs and provides input as part of the team for positive experiences
  • Works alongside the clinical leadership and providers to ensure competency validation of the staff
To be a success as the Clinical Education Coordinator:
  • Three to five years of clinical experience
  • Associate of Science in Nursing minimum
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Education preferred
  • Current CA Registered Nurse license
  • Current American Heart Association certified Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Valid CA Drivers License with acceptable driving record
  • All license and certifications must be current at time of hire and sustained throughout employment
  • Self- directed, Critical Thinker, Outstanding interpersonal skills, Organized, Computer literate. Excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills.
  • High level of clinical knowledge in home health care preferred
  • Leadership skills preferred
  • Must stay current with annual compliance training and certifications

You will be assigned to a Countyas a primary location, however you will be expected to be available to cover for vacancies, leave of absences, as well as supporting increased census and client care needs outside of the assigned area. 21st Century Home Health puts forth every effort to accommodate the assigned primary territory, but on occasion, in order to support safe patient care and meet the demands of a growing business, staff may be reassigned temporarily.
