JOB RESPONSIBILTIES: General farm operations Land Preparations- tillage, plow, land plane, disc, planting, spreading, and rolling Harvesting equipment-planting, cutting, tedding, raking, moving and wrapping Use of basic hand tools Implement usage-demonstrate ability to attach and detach implements to tractors/vehicles. Inspect hoses and couplers for wear or leakage. Communicate any potential failures to mechanic or lead operator. Basic maintenance equipment-conduct pre-operation checks to include visual exams and lubrication before each use as well as identifying and communication potential failures General Farm duties Road maintenance-grade and smooth gravel roads and parking lots Fence work-install, repair and maintain posts and wire/wooden fences cross beams Become familiar with larger/more complex equipment – excavator, front end loader, large tractors Landscape Maintain landscape using equipment such as-mowers, weed eaters, blowers, clippers and edger’s Water Operation Learn water testing on one farm, after one year of employment, to assist in w/e rotation General Housekeeping items Pressure washing-equipment, concrete and buildings Sweep, hose and generally clean buildings, haul trash and remove debris around work/break areas. Safety Use of PPE wherever and whenever required (Working with tools, ATV operation, mixing chemicals, operating tractors and farm equipment) and ensure all other employees are also. Identifying potentially unsafe acts and finding a safer way to accomplish the task. Understand safety and environmental permits that are required, when they are needed and how to complete them.
