Division Manager/ Senior Electrical Project Manager
Company Overview
Our CONFIDENTIAL client is a leading provider of electrical contracting services in Chicago with over 100 years in business. They specialize in integrated project management and turnkey solutions for the commercial and industrial markets for electrical construction, data/communications, and scoreboards/video displays.
Role & Responsibilities 
• Prepare proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
• Experience on commercial projects; healthcare, office space, colleges etc.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and/or tour job sites to confirm requisite take-offs.
• Prepare estimates by calculating complete take-off of scope of work.
• Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including information on pricing from suppliers obtained through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, software uploads, etc.
• May review design options and recommend the best solution based on cost, engineering quality, and/or availability of materials.
• Interface with clients on bid-walks.
• May provide support to field operations regarding electrical estimates.
Preferred Experience 
• Understanding what the customer or company wants to achieve.
• Defining the technical requirements and feasibility of a project.
• Outlining timescales, costs and resources needed to design and deliver an electrical operations project.
• Making sure the work follows strict health and safety guidelines.
• Developing step-by-step project plans.
• Leading a multi-disciplinary project team.
• Negotiating with designers, engineers, contractors and suppliers.
• Liaising with staff at every level.
• Overseeing several aspects of a project at the same time.
• Ensuring each stage of the project happens on time, on budget and to a high standard.
• Resolving any issues or delays.
• Working in an office or onsite.
• An ability to conceptualize and visualize the full scope of a client's needs for a given project, even with partial drawings—and sometimes, with no drawings at all.
• Working knowledge of utility requirements, municipal jurisdiction requirements, and more.
• Provides solutions for any electrical problem a customer may have.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience estimating and managing commercial/industrial electrical projects.
• Must be knowledgeable of NEC and City of Chicago codes to ensure installations meet quality and electrical code standard.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) with strong computer skills.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and perform complete, accurate estimates.
• Knowledge of the bidding process from presentation to close.
• Qualified to ensure that goals and/or objectives of the project are accomplished through scheduling, organization and time management.
• Strong customer service skills required.
• Strong respect for OSHA requirements and procedures.
• Ability to prepare construction schedules.
• Attend meetings with other trades and the general contractor to identify and resolve any conflicts.
• Managing the billing process as it relates to work in place and overseeing the monthly estimate of work completed, payrolls, material invoices, and subcontractor payment applications.
Compensation & Location
This position will be based out of Forest Park (Chicago), IL. This is a full-time position that is available for immediate hire. A meaningful compensation package will be developed for the successful candidate that will include a base salary, performance bonus, monthly auto allowance, PTO, and comprehensive benefits.
