Overview:

This position serves on a team that provides direction for increasing war-fighting effectiveness by identifying and articulating warfighter operational and training requirements, as well as leading development, testing, and integration of emerging live-virtual-constructive (LVC) solutions along with other technologies into an advanced system-of-systems. Additionally, the team ensures that technical capabilities of developed LVC solutions meet training requirements by supporting diverse teams of engineers, program managers, program analysts, and industry organizations in developing innovative networking and simulation technologies for combat air warfare training.

Specifically, this position provides operational expertise in military warfighting and technical expertise to support government efforts in requirements definition, developing acquisition strategies, and the development and fielding of LVC capabilities that support all domain warfighter training. The candidate will analyze warfighting and training capabilities across numerous warfare specialties to inform the development of innovative training technologies with a view towards training joint and coalition warfighters to outpace potential adversaries.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical and engineering support for LVC complex systems design, assessment, and development
  • Operational support to specified exercises, experimentation, tests, technical demonstrations, and other-directed technical efforts.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on current and future warfighter and training capabilities.
  • Analyze, manage, and support advanced systems studies.
  • Analyze science and technology capability lifecycles and transition strategies.
  • Collect, complete, organize and interpret technical data and information.
  • Develop and analyze exercise/experimentation project status, schedules, and milestones.
  • Draft, review, and organize experimentation initiative development.
  • Develop CONOPs, CONEMPs, and tactical representative requirements.
  • Coordinate and facilitate exercise meetings and reviews.
  • Prepare briefing materials for leadership.
  • Represent leadership at various meetings and provide feedback and recommendations, as required.

Experience:

Required

  • USN / USMC Officer tour(s) with VFA / VMFA / VAQ / VAW / HS / HSM squadrons. USAF also considered.

Desired

  • Defense Acquisition Practitioner, Weapon School Graduate, Squadron Tactics Instructor.
  • Experience in system design and acquisition to include development, integration, and fielding of capabilities.
  • Developmental / Operational Test experience is also valuable.

Location: Norfolk, VA

Travel: 10-25% contract dependent

Qualifications:

Required

  • Active SECRET clearance.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to be commensurate with technical and event facilitator roles.
  • Complete familiarity with Microsoft Office (Power Point, Excel, Word, etc).

Desired

  • Ability to obtain and keep a TOP SECRET clearance.

Education:

Required

  • Technical bachelor’s degree.

Desired

  • Engineering Undergraduate, Engineering Management Master’s, MBA or other advanced degree.
