1st Colonial Community Bank is Hiring a SBA Loan Processor Near Laurel, NJ

1st Colonial Community Bank’s Small Business Administration (SBA) government guaranteed lending program provides small businesses with access to capital and ensuring the compliance and guaranty of each borrower’s loan. This position reports directly to the Chief Revenue Officer and works in conjunction with the SVP/Senior Credit Officer and the VP/Credit Administration Manager in conjunction with the Bank’s Small Business Administration (SBA) /Government Guaranteed Commercial Lending area. The SBA Loan Processor proactively manages the SBA loan closing process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Review and understand SBA loan requirements and ensure all conditions for closing are met.
  • Coordinate with borrowers, lenders, attorneys, and other parties involved in the transaction to gather all necessary documentation.
  • Prepare and review closing documents, including but not limited to loan agreements, promissory notes, deed of trust or mortgage documents, bills of sale, and other security agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with SBA regulations, as well as federal and state laws related to the lending process.
  • Verify that the loan approval and closing documents are accurate and complete.
  • Coordinate the loan closing process, including scheduling the closing, disbursing funds, and confirming the recording of necessary documents.
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise during the closing process.
  • Maintain detailed records of communication and documentation related to loan closings.
  • Provide excellent customer service to borrowers and answer any questions they may have about the closing process.
  • Stay updated on changes in SBA policies and procedures that affect loan closings.
  • Train or assist other team members on SBA loan closing processes and procedures.
  • Manage post-closing SBA document exceptions with the responsibility for the clearance of all critical exceptions within 30-days to ensure the SBA 10tab has all required documentation.
  • Expected to work with a fair degree of independence in successfully managing and completing assigned workflow and tasks & perform other duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge and preferred formal training on SBA Lending, the SBA 10tab and the SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Strong knowledge of basic banking products, commercial lending products, and ability to match lending solutions with the borrowers.
  • Broad knowledge of bank products and services that results in successfully identifying appropriate opportunities.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in reviewing SBA files including but not limited to personal and corporate tax returns, authorizations, credit memos and personal and corporate financial statements.
  • Learning and training on the Bank’s Core System and other related sub-systems in order to generate reports and analysis regarding existing assigned Commercial Lender loan accounts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and strong oral, written communication and computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office/Word, Excel, and Outlook.

EXPERIENCE:
  • 2 Years in SBA lending and/or SBA portfolio management
  • Track record in managing risk
  • Experience in commercial loan documentation
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands, use fingers, talk, hear and remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time. The employee is required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms. The employee must have the ability to verbally effectively communicate with staff and customers. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must have the ability to stay alert and attentive at all times and operate a computer, phone and essential equipment as required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
