The Portfolio Manger reports directly to the Credit Administration Manager and works in conjunction with the Bank’s Commercial Lending and SBA teams. The Portfolio Manager proactively manages a portfolio of assigned commercial loan relationships, to include managing loan maturities/renewals, customer retention, incremental new business development, the gathering of updated Borrower/Guarantor financial information, and conducting customer calls for loan payments and overdraft activity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Servicing of assigned existing commercial loan relationships. Responsible for gathering appropriate financial information and additional supporting data (i.e. credit reports, collateral searches, and other pertinent information) required for the renewal/modification and annual reviews of existing commercial loans.
- Manages new loan origination process as opportunities should arise from assigned loan portfolio.
- Monitors payment delinquencies and overdraft activity within assigned loan portfolio. Works directly with Special Assets Manager in the collection of past due loan payments.
- Monitor loan portfolio for possible credit deficiencies and changes in credit risk ratings. Responsible for the preparation of quarterly Special Asset Review Memo’s, obtaining updated Borrower/Guarantor financial information, updated searches, credit reports, and collateral valuations when deemed necessary.
- Works in conjunction with Commercial Loan Administrator to ensure financial ticklers and covenants are monitored.
- Provide support for customer contact to Commercial Relationship Managers on an as-needed basis.
- Expected to work with a fair degree of independence in successfully managing and completing assigned workflow and tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of basic banking products, commercial lending products, and ability to match lending solutions with the borrowers.
- Knowledge of Commercial Real Estate Lending, Commercial & Industrial (“C&I”) Lending, and Small Business Lending.
- Experience in reviewing personal and corporate tax returns, rent roll and lease-track analysis, personal and corporate financial statements.
- Learning and training on the Bank’s Core System and other related sub-systems to generate reports and analysis regarding existing assigned Commercial Lender loan accounts.
- Strong interpersonal skills and strong oral, written communication and computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office/Word, Excel, and Outlook

EXPERIENCE:
- Commercial lending background: 2 to 3 years minimum (required)
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance preferred.
