1899 Indoor Golf is Hiring a Bartender Near Shaker Heights, OH

Join our growing family at 1899. Our newest creation is 1899 Social Club in Shaker Heights, OH. This 16,000 sqft facility will feature 9 state-of-the-art indoor golf simulators, a casual fine dining restaurant with 80 person dining room, two full service craft cocktail bars, a stage and lounge area for live music and a speakeasy whiskey library with chefs table.

1899 Social Club is looking for professional, enthusiastic Bartenders with excellent communication skills to serve and provide an excellent guest experience. We take pride in providing top notch customer service with care and urgency, along with thoughtful provisions, craft cocktails, excellent food and stellar service.

Top candidates will be able to create classic and innovative drinks exceeding guests’ expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests in a warm and friendly manner
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Greet guests and present menus
  • Knowledge of the menu, with the ability to make suggestions based on their preferences
  • Helps patrons select food and beverages by suggesting courses, explaining the chef’s features, identifying appropriate beverage pairings and answering food preparation questions
  • Transmits orders to bar and kitchen by recording patrons’ choices and identifying patrons’ special dietary needs and special requests
  • Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses and being alert to patron spills or other special needs
  • Take and serve food/drink orders accurately and with a positive attitude
  • Serves orders by picking up and delivering patrons’ choices from bar and kitchen and delivering accompaniments and condiments
  • Helps fellow team members and other departments wherever necessary to maintain positive working relationships
  • Ensure tables are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems
  • Responds to additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs and observing dining process
  • Arrange table settings and keep tables clean and tidy at all times
  • Obtains revenues by totaling charges, issuing bills, accepting payments, delivering bills and payments and returning change or credit card and signature slip to patrons
  • Cooperate and communicate with all serving and kitchen staff
  • Adhere to all relevant health department rules/regulations and all customer service guidelines
  • Performs opening and closing duties, as needed
  • Assess guests’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
  • Check guests’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
  • Planning drink menus and informing guests about drink features
  • Maintaining a clean work and dining are by removing trash, cleaning tables, washing glasses utensils and equipment
  • Developing new cocktail recipes for features
  • Helps fellow team members and other departments wherever necessary to maintain positive working relationships
  • Ensure tables are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems
  • Responds to additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs and observing dining process
  • Obtains revenues by totaling charges, issuing bills, accepting payments, delivering bills and payments and returning change or credit card and signature slip to patrons
  • Cooperate and communicate with all serving and kitchen staff
  • Adhere to all relevant health department rules/regulations and all customer service guidelines
  • Performs opening and closing duties, as needed

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience as a Restaurant Server in a fast-paced environment
  • Meets state minimum age to serve alcohol
  • Experience with developing constructive working and interpersonal relationships with colleagues and guests
  • Availability to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • Positive, engaging personality and professional appearance
  • Ability to stand, walk and bend for extended periods and lift up to 25lbs
  • Experience with developing constructive working and interpersonal relationships with colleagues and guests
  • 1 year of experience with cash register and any ordering information system
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and deliver orders in a timely manner

Wages: $5.05 to $10 depending on experience tips
