169 Storage is looking for a high-energy, ambitious, and top-performing team member to assist with the maintenance of our commercial buildings & facilities in the Kansas City Northland area, including Smithville, Trimble and near KCI airport. We need a Handy-Man!
As the Facility & Grounds Maintenance Lead, you will become an important member of our team by ensuring our site facilities and grounds are well-kept, safe and visually appealing to customers. Responsibilities
· Troubleshoot and apply fixes across multiple areas: construction (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, insulation, siding, gutters, soffit repairs)
· Grounds maintenance (potentially mowing, trimming, treating weeds, utilizing small tractor to move gravel, fence/gate repairs)
· Operating and moving small machinery (tractor, loading/unloading trailer & implements)
· Keep facilities up to the highest of cleanliness standards (i.e. cleaning units, sweeping, mopping, changing light bulbs, etc.)
· Assisting with make ready items (vacuuming, sweeping, gathering trash, prepping units for next customer)
· Perform independently on a day to day basis with a focus on teamwork and partnerships with other stores in the area
· May be required to travel by vehicle to other local site locations to inspect units, administer clean outs, meet customers and run errands for the facility
· Coordinate work efforts with vendors, contractors and service technicians as needed
Qualifications
· 3 years of property, building and/or grounds maintenance experience
· Ability to lift up to 50lbs
· Ability to climb ladders, replace lightbulbs, inspect rooftops as needed
· Valid Driver’s License with access to reliable transportation
· Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Prior Experience (preferred):
· Construction background (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, insulation, siding, gutters, soffit repairs)
· Landscaping, lawn maintenance, trimming, treating weeds
· Experience operating small machinery (tractor, loading/unloading trailer & implements)
· Make ready (vacuuming, sweeping, gathering trash, prepping units for next customer)
· Fencing/gate repair
· Garage door maintenance
Location & Hours:
· Office Locations: (various) Smithville, Trimble & near KCI airport
· Hours of Operation: 8AM-5PM, Monday – Friday
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
