Mondrian South Beach is currently seeking a Catering/Conference Service Manager to join their team. The Catering/Conference Service Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating all conferences, meetings, group functions and group activities booked through the sales department. This person must be able to act as the liaison between the client and the hotel throughout the pre-planning, execution and post event wrap of the program.
Must have completed High School or GED Diploma
2 yrs.’ experience in the Hospitality Sales & Marketing
Ability to use standard software applications and hotel systems including, Delphi.FDC is a plus, Opera, Microsoft Office etc.
Possess excellent telephone sales skills
Strong customer development and relationship management skills
Effective decision-making skills
Ability to influence others in a positive manner
Strong problem-solving skills are essential for handling guest concerns
Strong communication skills (verbal, listening, writing) Strong organization skills
In addition, this Manager will perform duties as a Catering/Conference Service Manager for all groups booked by the Team including but not limited to creating group resumes, communicating group/event details to appropriate hotel and Team, creating BEOs, managing set up/service/ retrieval process with hotel personnel, communication with Mondrian F&B Division, internal communication on the event with hotels, and managing of actual events on site. This position will focus on Conference Services responsibilities 90% of the time selling at least 10% of the time depending on seasonal demand.
