JOB SUMMARY: As the EHS Safety Manager out of our Fort Collins Brewery you will oversee the entire brewery safety program, working through the operating departments and brewery safety champions to execute the management of that program. This is an opportunity to work in a facility with a World Class safety program, allowing a dynamic leader to be creative in taking the program to even higher standards. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Development of EHS improvement initiatives and the daily management of on-going EHS operations. Provide leadership to senior management team regarding the EHS strategic objectives and regulatory compliance issues. Lead the Management System Safety Pillar to ensure company and regulatory compliance. Directs activities to conduct investigations, identify root cause and recommend corrective measures. Represents the facility to external regulatory agencies and supports the negotiation of fines and penalties. Basic understanding of ergonomic principals, ability to perform ergonomic assessments and develop ergonomic improvements. Basic understanding of Workers’ Comp Program and ability to interact with our WC provider to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Directs activities to compile EHS information and other data as required by Zone, State and Federal agencies. Identify unsafe behaviors and unsafe conditions in the workplace using regulatory requirements & best safety practices and then work with brewery teams to eliminate them. Contributes to the overall needs and objectives of the department. Team building – ability to involve employees and the leadership team in the process. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree required in safety, environmental or other related subject areas. Proficient with Environmental and or Safety regulations. Minimum of three (3) years experience. Ability to interpret regulatory requirements (federal, state and provincial) and apply them to the workplace. Ability to collaboratively work with all levels of the organization. Effective decision making and a willingness to use available resources to accomplish goals. Knowledge & experience to provide effective training on all appropriate safety related topics. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, strong leadership skills, a comfort level with change, and the ability to lead change. Acts with integrity in all EHS&S matters to maintain EHS&S compliance and excellence. Excellent Computer skills – Power point, Excel, Word, Visio and Project.
