Job Title: Quality Lab Technician - B Shift Job Description: Quality Lab Technician - Night Shift CMC Materials in Hillsboro is seeking a science-minded individual for their Quality Team. A Quality Lab Technician is responsible for the quality analytical inspection and testing of incoming materials, In process samples, experimental, final product and post-polish products; recording and analysis of test data; test rationalization and upgrades; writing and maintaining work instructions and procedures; clear, concise and prompt communication of any issues; instrument calibration/verification; internal / external ISO9000 audits; and to also support the engineering team when necessary. Employees holding a Quality Technician position must be proficient in Quality Lab tools and testing methods. Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline preferred (i.e. Chemistry, Biology, etc) Skills: Technical – Demonstration of technical knowledge to add value to Quality Lab operations; strong mathematics skills; experience with SPC, SQC and basic statistical methods; ability to work with basic laboratory measurement equipment; experience with analytical equipment; ability to summarize and analyze data. Behavioral - Demonstrates initiative; self-motivated and disciplined; flexible and adaptable to change (shifting priorities); quality minded with strong customer focus; ability to work independently as well as a contributor in a team environment; good written and oral communication skills; good organizational skills (attention to detail and accuracy) and solid work ethic. Computer - Intermediate, experience with statistical software packages a plus (i.e. Minitab; JMP); basic data entry and spreadsheet development. Experience – Relevant quality laboratory experience strongly desired. Specific Duties & Requirements: • Inspecting and testing in the lab (incoming raw materials, in-process samples, final product, post-polish product; and experimental items) • Recording test data, generating reports • Maintaining instrument verification, conducting PM • Troubleshooting instruments • Keeping records up to date and accurate • Housekeeping of Lab: Lab environment in good condition, conducting 5S • Developing and maintaining work instructions and procedures • Assisting in the development of new test methods • Active attitude for the task and strong sense of responsibility Work Hours/Schedule: B Shift - Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and every other Saturday from 5:30pm-6:00am Additional reasons to be part of CMC are that we offer a generous benefit package.
