In this job, you will manage project schedules from initiation to closeout and will coordinate with key stakeholders to develop and maintain project schedules for Engineering, Construction, Procurement and Licensing teams.

A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Develop project baseline and coordinate and perform schedule updates. Develop schedule reports and other analytics for use by Management in response to corporate requests for capital program and project information.
  • Perform in-depth schedule impact, variance analysis and assist with development of cost loaded schedule include consulting services to project stakeholders to address, document and communicate any changes/trends that impact:
    • 1) Critical path, earned value, schedule workarounds and resource utilization
    • 2) Budgets, commitments, expenditures, and forecasts
    • 3) Exercise responsibility over work order closure and close-out issues
  • Establish and maintain effective dialogue with clients, project team members and management to support, monitor and forecast schedule and budget performance. Ensure understanding of drivers of schedule and cost performance through regular interface and/or meetings with project team members as appropriate
  • Engage management teams to discover opportunities and develop and execute projects to deliver solutions to promote enhanced performance
  • Develop presentations, lead schedule development efforts, coordinate project status meetings, and supporting spokesperson for program updates
Qualifications


The essentials

  • 3 or more years of combined experience performing functions related to Project Controls (scheduling and cost), and/or coordinating/leading projects within Construction Management

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent technical/financial discipline
  • Experience supporting projects from initiation to completion
  • Demonstrated experience interfacing effectively and collaborating with business partners, cross-functional project teams, peers, management, and vendors
  • Ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks appropriately, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers
  • Experience interfacing and/or collaborating with internal and external clients, and all levels of management to develop solutions and facilitate cooperation between organizations
  • Analyze information and make sound, prompt and timely decisions
  • Strong oral/written communication skills and be able to present technical information in simple, non-technical terms
  • Experience with Primavera P6
  • Experience using Microsoft application (i.e., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.), and SharePoint

You should know

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

  • This position may require site visits dependent on projects, including potential overnight stays.
  • This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.

  • This position requires testing and applicants who are identified to continue through the selection process will be invited to test via email. Reference our Information Guides for the following tests: Edison Individual Contributor Workstyles (Test #8203). Candidates who have previously passed these assessment(s), in some cases, may not need to retest again for this position.
