Job Overview This is a union position.The Tustin Family Campus program is an 18 month residential treatment program serving 15 mothers with up to 32 children. All residents have open Child and Family Service Cases in the County of Orange. These mothers are working to reunify with their children while at the same time addressing their histories with addiction and mental health. Our treatment team works closely with Orange County Social Services, Orange County Mental Health and Family Court to ensure successful case plan completion and reunification. Clients receive substance abuse counseling and education, counseling and education in parenting and life skills as well as individual and group therapy for both mothers and children. The goal for our clients is that they graduate with custody of their children, affordable housing and a steady income. The SUD Counselor III, SP is the coordinator of intake activity up to and including the intake day. They will educate and screen potential clients, manage wait lists and organize the treatment team for successful intakes. They are also the coordinator for community and client services for their assigned caseload. As a SUD Counselor III, SP they are responsible for the assessment of needs and implementation of care plans. It is usual for clients to have ongoing support needs in areas such as housing, employment, social relationships, and community participation. SUD Counselor III, SP will work closely with The Life Skills Development Manager and the Child Care Parenting Specialist and the Therapist to coordinate and monitor client barriers and progress. Key ResponsibilitiesScreening/Needs Assessments.Managing a wait list and communications with potential clients. Substance Abuse Counseling.SUD and Relapse Prevention group facilitation.Coordinating treatment with the multidisciplinary treatment team for the assigned caseload.Meet assigned deadlines related to client documentation, reporting to funders, and other assignments to ensure the highest care possible for our clients including monthly reports on clients' progress to assigned social worker.Follow all HealthRIGHT 360 Policies and Procedures, State Licensing and CARF standards as well as funder specific requirements. Assist clients with orientation to program upon admission.For clients assigned to caseload, collects information related to clients' history and current situation.Assist assigned caseload in developing a treatment plan.Monitor clients' progress in program and work with client to update treatment plan.Trains and supports clients to independent living skills (cooking, meal planning, shopping, budgeting).Provide individual and group counseling.Monitor parent-child interactions to ensure safety and wellbeing of children.Participation in team and staff meetings and in-service trainings.Maintain and observe all HIPPA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations that apply.Other duties as assigned.Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. AA Degree plus 3 years’ experience. BA Degree preferred. CA State Substance Abuse Certification required.At least two years of experience working with clients in a Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Domestic Violence and/or related field. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal required. Excellent Computer Skills, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Acrobat.Valid California Driver’s License. Knowledge and compliance with professional boundaries and compliance with all regulatory requirements including HIPPA, 42 CFR Part 2, DHCS, CARF and the County of Orange.Professionalism in all interactions with clients, co-workers, community partners and the funder.Other qualifications may be required according to program and/or contractual needs.
