Job Summary Take on a pivotal role as a Senior Accountant in Payroll and Equity, contributing significantly to the optimization of our global share-based compensation programs and financial reporting procedures. As a key member of the Payroll and Equity Operations function, we are seeking a meticulous accounting professional with a deep understanding of equity administration, payroll accounting, and compliance protocols. A key aspect of your role involves overseeing stock transactions, upholding SOX controls, and complementing the Payroll Delivery team in executing post-payroll activities. Responsibilities Oversee post-payroll accounting activities, including preparation of report packages and correction of journal errors within Workday Financials. Conduct detailed monthly payroll account reconciliations, meticulously researching and resolving discrepancies to maintain data integrity. Collaborate with various finance departments to ensure accurate delivery of monthly general ledger and accounting packages to business segments, enhancing financial transparency and accountability. Prepare quarterly and annual share-based compensation expense schedules for recording in subsidiary ledgers globally, including budgeting, reforecasting, and analytical analyses. Prepare financial statement disclosures related to Arch’s Long-term Incentive and Share Award Plans under GAAP, SEC, IFRS, and STAT reporting frameworks. Coordinate the semiannual Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) enrollment processes with internal departments and execute the share purchases under the Plan. Address employee and business partner inquiries related to equity transactions and ESPP participation. Perform comprehensive reviews, reconciliations, and ensure the accuracy of the equity database. Coordinate the sourcing of equity awards related to employees' mobility across multiple tax jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with local regulations and reporting requirements. Stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry best practices in equity administration and payroll accounting, providing insights and recommendations. Execute controls and procedures to mitigate risks associated with equity and payroll transactions, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. Drive process improvement initiatives to optimize workflows and systems in equity and payroll operations, including supporting payroll accounting and equity platform projects. Education and Experience Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent education and experience. CPA license or CEP designation is advantageous. 5 years of experience in payroll accounting, equity administration, or related roles, with exposure to equity financial reporting requirements. Proficiency in Workday Payroll and Financial management systems. Proficiency in equity administration platforms. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex payroll and equity data, identifying trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and interact with external stakeholders. Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and data integrity. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software applications for data analysis and reporting.
