Job Description Summary Perform and own various activities and processes in the plant accounting department, including review and approval of payroll data, general ledger account reconciliations, production cost accounting and preparation/dissemination of various regular financial report (including ad hoc requests as needed) by performing the duties listed in the job description. This position will also be required to show financial reporting competency related to monthly financial close out processes, be able to own and maintain office supplies inventory and budgeting, assist with small sections of AOP planning, drive continuous improvement initiatives and deliver consistent and accurate reporting with ability to quickly create reporting and analysis where needed. Job Description Performs intermediate level clerical accounting duties, requiring some analysis and individual judgment in the application of routine calculations, verifications, and posting procedures to recurring assignments. Provide support to Managers, Office Staff, and Hourly employees. Including ownership of office supplies ordering, budgeting, and management. Prepare & Report plant operational costs using Lamb Weston systems such as Unit Cost, Bill of Materials, ASI, SAP S4, Extend AG, Scale Tickets, and others. Ability to navigate common program screen with little to no oversight and demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot basic errors. Prepare, adjust, and upload journal entries with little to no oversight. Ability to recognize material discrepancies in financial data and have full comprehension of purpose and policy for financial reporting. Understands and can complete basic completeness and accuracy (C&A) testing on journal entries and reconciliations and easily communicate with internal audit teams. Provide explanations as needed to financial reports/estimates to in house Management team and corporate cost accounting. Ability to recognize data discrepancies and alert plant finance team or troubleshoot corrections with plant manifest/ASI teams. Verify, balance, and reconcile various types of transactions with no oversight and provide open communication to management team on material discrepancies. Process data and send invoices for accounts receivable as well as own follow thru on timely processing through partnership/collaboration with AR Corporate. Collect information on new vendors to be added into the system showing ability to partner/collaborate with SSC Procurement team. Verify and process payroll while collaborating with HR Team to ensure timely/accurate submittal. Post and balance subsidiary ledgers. Participates in safety and health focused improvements. Assists in preparing budgets and reports including estimates and forecasts. This includes Annual Operating Plan (AOP) component updates, pricing change analysis and intermediate comprehension of Bill of Material SKU setup. Assists with the monitoring, and regular testing, of general ledger and inventory transactions to ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies. This includes plant annual inventory counts for finished goods, packaging/ingredient components and raw product. Other duties as assigned. Basic & Preferred Qualifications Associates degree (A.A) with emphasis in accounting and 2 years equivalent work experience, or 3 years of manufacturing experience in Finance/Accounting. Experience in application and understanding of basic accounting principles and processes in manufacturing. Intermediate understanding of cost accounting principles related to manufacturing costs. Ability to read and comprehend intermediate level instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages and apply these figures to provide context around business results. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve without assistance problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. To perform this job successfully an individual should have knowledge of accounting software, database software, payroll systems, spreadsheet software and word Processing software. This position will require an individual with an ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with other departments within the plant as well as at our corporate finance level to drive results.
