101 Mobility NC Triangle Metro is Hiring a Professional Installation / Mechanical Service Technician Near Raleigh, NC

GENERAL SUMMARY: We are looking for professional installation - service technicians to work in our Raleigh - Durham Triangle location at 101 Mobility! We are passionate about helping the elderly or disabled move freely in their own homes. By delivering accessibility solutions that help provide freedom and independence, our team thrives on enriching lives.

The position is with a local franchise of 101 Mobility which is a nation-wide full-line provider of these mobility and accessibility products. This means you will be working in a small company atmosphere with big company support and resources and a successful employee will have room to grow with the Raleigh company location.

CORE FUNCTIONS:

  • You will provide field installation, service, repair and instruction for a full product line of specialty mechanical equipment to include stairlifts, platform lifts, LULA elevator lifts, wheelchair auto lifts, ramps, ceiling lifts and similar mobility/disability related assistive devices.
  • Contact customers and provide in-home technical assistance
  • Complete service calls and deliveries based on work orders
  • Maintain service shop and inventory

POSITION DETAILS & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Deliver first-rate customer service.
  • Evaluates a customer’s environment for safe and effective means for installation of mobility products.
  • Install Stair Lifts, Ramps, Grab bars, Patient Lifts and Vertical Platform Lifts in both residential and commercial environments and assist with light remodeling for ease of access for disabled and elderly persons.
  • Install lift solutions in customer vehicles.
  • Mechanical maintenance of stair lifts, vertical platform lifts, patient lifts, auto-lifts, scooters and powerchairs.
  • Contacts customers via phone and in person to provide technical service support.
  • Expedites the resolution of customer problems and complaints.
  • Utilizes the proprietary computer software to record customer interactions, upload pictures and other related paperwork, set and review scheduled appointments.
  • Maintains warehouse inventory and equipment in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Identifies and adheres to safe workplace practices and observance of OSHA and fire regulations.
  • Safely load and secure equipment for transport in a company vehicle in a safe and courteous manner, adhering to all traffic laws.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Mechanical and carpentry skills are preferred, but we will train someone with good communication skills, and is motivated to learn.
  • Minimum 3 years of mechanical or electrical experience - especially those related to troubleshooting equipment.
  • Aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers.
  • Mechanical aptitude - low voltage
  • Electronic diagnostic - 1 year
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills-Spanish language is a plus.
  • Computer proficiency a must - familiarity with mobile devices and usage of apps
  • Driver's License required for use of company vehicle provided.
  • Ability to safely lift 100 lbs.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and occasional weekends.

Helpful but not required:

  • Carpentry
  • Construction experience is a plus
  • Remodeling experience
  • Automotive repair experience

Required education:

  • High school or equivalent
