Job Description The Staff Accountant II works as part of the Corporate Accounting Department to produce monthly financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (“GAAP”). Job Tasks: Maintain high professional and ethical standards in a dynamic environment; understanding and complying with AMN policies and guidelines set forth by GAAP, SOX and other governing bodies. Promote communications and relationships with all departments within the organization Prepare informative reconciliations and supporting schedules for balance sheet accounts including support for all estimates used Ensure that reconciliations and supporting schedules are completed timely and in accordance with the monthly closing schedule Research and resolve reconciling items in accounts (as assigned) with increased level of independence Document, prepare, input, and post journal entries into Great Plains Prepare schedules for recurring accruals and deferrals and amortize monthly Demonstrate a solid understanding of all financial transactions recorded in accounts (as assigned) and their impact on the financial statements and guidelines set forth by GAAP Demonstrate ability to analyze financial information for accuracy and explain significant fluctuations Ensure that financial transactions are reasonable , appropriate and necessary Assist in responding to additional questions posed by internal and external auditors Prepare footnote disclosures, including support, for quarterly and annual financial statements Assist in establishing and documenting policies and procedures for the corporate accounting department Maintain confidentiality of financial information Follow all policies and procedures to comply with the requirements of the Sarbanes Oxley Act Education, Certifications & Experience Minimum Education/Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other field with equivalent college credits in Accounting Preferred Education/Certifications: CPA Certification Minimum Experience: 2 years general ledger accounting or audit experience Preferred Experience Experience within a public company Respect ● Passion ● Continuous Improvement ● Trust ● Customer Focus ● Innovation AMN Healthcare is an EEO/AA/Disability/Protected Veteran Employer We encourage minority and female applicants to apply We value professionalism in everything we do – this includes the professional presence we project as we interact with internal and external customers.
