About the Role: The role requires the candidate to understand the business requirements and translate them into technical solutions while adhering to the data modeling standards defined for the enterprise. The candidate will be the liaison between the business, technology and product management teams. You will participate in the design, development, and implementation of architectural deliverables, including components of the assessment and optimization of system design and review of user requirements. Includes responsibility for data warehouse architecture and design and development of data model & data engineering requiring multiple technologies. Works with and provides direction to data engineers across the team to facilitate the development of technical standards. Must have communication skills and ability to develop and present solutions to all levels of management. Participates in requirements gathering, discovery, and interfacing with technical and business teams - establishing credibility in terms of experience, presentation and leadership of solutions development. Evaluates proposed new systems and system changes and additions, provides oversight into the decision process and participates in project implementation. Provide guidance to less experienced database engineering analysts, for troubleshooting escalated issues and support regular/emergency requests during production issues. The individual will have excellent communication, time management skills and the ability to work in a past-faced high-pressure environment. Responsibilities: Self-starter, works with Business, System Architects and System Analysts to fully understand the business requirements and translate them into Conceptual, Logical and Physical models Uses a variety of information gathering techniques (e.g., interviews, facilitation, diagrams) to gather complex business data requirements from Business teams Coordinate data models, data dictionaries, and other database documentation across multiple applications Leads design reviews of data deliverables such as models, data flows, and data quality assessments Transform logical data models into physical database designs while optimizing the performance and maintainability of the physical database Perform data analysis, discovery, profiling and identify the cause of data issues and work with the broader team to resolve Develop a solid understanding of the various source data sets and assist in laying out the overall data design solutions Promotes data modeling standardization, defines and drives adoption of the standards Partner with Enterprise Risk and Compliance to ensure all data is being protected per corporate data handling policies. Represent the organization to engage with internal & external stakeholders to develop optimal data strategy within CBU Effectively leverage various data technologies in addressing specific business problems and integrate into overall data architecture Engage and build strong working relationships with IT, Business and Sourcing partners Qualifications: 5 years in a related role in addition to a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics or related field 5 years of experience in data warehousing, data modeling techniques, analysis, and design 5 years of experience on MPP systems like Azure Synapse Analytics, AWS redshift, Databricks or similar technologies Strong understanding of Lakehouse, data mesh principles such as delta lake, hudi, iceberg etc... Ability to concisely document and express data architectures and standards that can be readily understood and applied by both IT leadership and developers Extensive Experience with tools like Erwin Ability to prepare mapping documents from source to target system and direct tasks for Data Engineering Analysts 3-5 years of experience in designing & developing logical & physical data model 1-2 years of work experience in python 3-5 years of experience in writing complex ETL packages/notebooks Hands-on experience working in an Agile environment Willingness to learn and experiment with technologies outside of his/her comfort area Knowledge & experience of DevOps CI/CD implementation methodologies.
