Schedule: Part time – 20-35 hours/week, benefit eligible Shift: 12 Hour Day Shift (United States of America) Weekly Work Schedule: Saturday and Sunday 7am-7pm Call and Holiday Job Information Exemption Status: Non-Exempt A Brief Overview Performs radiographic and other advanced modality imaging procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries by performing the following duties. Experience Qualifications 6 months Experience in at least one advanced modalities. Required 3 months surgery experience. Required 2 years Experience in a hospital/clinic. Preferred Skills and Abilities Willingly accepts various work assignments. Is accountable and responsible for own actions/decisions. (Required proficiency) Licenses and Certifications Radiography - ARRT Required Passage of at least one advance modality (CT, NM, MRI MG, or US), as determined by SVH Imaging department needs is preferred. Basic Life Support - BLS Required within 90 days of hire. What you will do Prepares and positions patient for diagnostic and advanced imaging procedures. Moves imaging equipment into specified position, determines exposure factors on basis of height, weight, portion of body involved, and degree of penetration required, and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy. Adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by physician. Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation. Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. Processes images and reviews for proper identification and quality control. Prepares images for reading by radiologist or requesting physician. Performs routine maintenance, diagnoses malfunctions, and makes minor repairs on radiologic equipment, arranging for repairs as needed. Completes forms and maintains records, logs, and reports of work performed. Performs office work including, but not limited to, answering phone, obtaining information from computer, and ordering departmental supplies. Assist in training students and/or new staff. Provides a positive image to customers by creating a friendly atmosphere and placing a high priority on meeting customer needs in a courteous manner. Provides services in a prompt manner at times convenient for the customers. Responds to needs and is knowledgeable of appropriate care for school-aged through gerontological patients. Contributes to a team atmosphere by demonstrating excellent communication skills, taking initiative to perform needed tasks, and being flexible to go beyond normal expectations to meet the needs of others. Adjusts break and lunch schedules to accommodate patient care. Does not accrue overtime unnecessarily or abuse sick-time. Call is a requirement of this position. Assists radiologist in fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations. Measures and mixes barium and contrast media. Operates mobile radiologic equipment in operating room, emergency room, or at patient's bedside. Performs exams in advanced imaging modalities. Assists radiologist in advanced imaging modality procedures. Able to operate advanced imaging surgery equipment.
