Horizon BCBSNJ employees must live in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut or Delaware Job Summary: This position is responsible for assisting in the design, implementation, execution, analysis, and reporting of Government Programs Quality Improvement Projects (QIPs), as required by federal regulations. This role is responsible for assisting in ensuring Quality Improvement Programs are effectively improving patient health outcomes through various programs. Responsibilities: Assist the Quality Assurance Manager with the creation, development, and follow-up submission of Government Programs QIP plans to the State. Ensuring the content and data requirements are met per State regulations. Assist with managing multiple QIP plans with tasks coordinated across various departments at all levels within Government Programs. Responsible for coordination of workflows and assignments with internal departments to create and revise Government Programs QIP specific reports, processes, and dashboards. Liaise with departmental and interdepartmental workgroups to coordinates the QIP interventions with internal and external Government Programs collaborators. Collaborates with the Quality Management Departments audit teams to organize, execute, and validate data collection. Responsible for creating reports and analyzing data for submission to the State/IPRO for State QIPs and the CMS through the HPMS system for the Medicare QIPs. Provides the Quality Management department with reports and updates about QIP progress and action plans to address feedback from the State or CMS following QIP submissions. Creates and presents QIP educational materials for Government Programs staff and external QIP partners. Serves as the Quality Department lead on Government Programs Lead Disease Management Program. Perform other relevant tasks as assigned by management. The information above is intended to describe the general nature of the work being performed by each incumbent assigned to this position. Education/Experience: Bachelors degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Finance/Accounting, Health Care Administration, Public Policy, or Public Administration preferred. In lieu of a degree applicant must have an additional 2-3 years of applicable and relevant work experience, training, and course work. Requires a minimum of 1 year of experience in health care quality, audit, public health/policy, or relevant field. Requires experience with research design and statistics. Knowledge: Must be proficient in the use of personal computers and supporting software in a Windows based environment including MS Office products. Must be knowledgeable in the use of intranet and internet applications. Skills and Abilities: Requires excellent verbal and communication skills Requires strong project management skills Requires strong organizational skills Requires strong analytical skills Requires strong relationship building skills to work collaboratively across departments/divisions Travel %: 10-20% - traveling to external partners within New Jersey to provide education and/or QIP specific information.
