Day (United States of America) Location Outpatient Center in New Lenox Job Description General Summary: The Audiology Clinical Assistant works with the Audiologist during testing, manages the environment, and completes all administrative work. Essential Job Functions: Assists the Audiologist during patient assessments. Independently prepares clinical environment for patients including but not limited to: ensuring availability of necessary equipment and materials for sessions and setting up/breaking down and cleaning the patient care spaces. Provides clinical support as requested by the Audiology for outpatient and/or inpatient procedures. Maintains clinical supplies, durable medical equipment (DME), accessories and educational tools. Maintains clinic testing equipment with weekly calibrations and completes environmental care rounds. Inventories stock, orders and restocks as needed. Accounts for the ordering, shipping, receiving and tracking of DME and all other clinic equipment as assigned. Maintains physical environment of the department including counseling and programming rooms, sound booths and any other treatment spaces. Participates in staff meetings. Organizes, submits and tracks all paperwork necessary for medical records and billing. Assists with patient scheduling and other clerical/PSR duties as needed. Assists with departmental projects as needed. Updates own knowledge base through continuing education, attendance at in-services and reading of literature. Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others. Other job functions as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: College degree preferred in related field (Audiology, Speech-Language Pathology, Speech and Hearing, Child Development, Child Life, Child Psychology) Prior experience working with children is highly preferred. Ability to operate a personal computer and standard office equipment, such as photocopy machine, facsimile machine, calculator, etc. Proficient with Microsoft applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access required. Must be able to accept instruction and guidance and be capable of following a structured work routine. Ability to follow verbal and written directives with detail. Must be able to learn and master the procedures and techniques necessary to assist with rehab procedures. Effective and strong interpersonal skills and communication skills, verbal and in writing. Ability to effectively communicate with Hospital/department staff, patients, parents, and community personnel. Strong organizational and critical thinking skills to effectively manage priorities of multiple team members. Strong planning and coordination skills. Ability to provide high level of customer service to patients, department staff, management and external customers. Ability to work independently and exercise good and professional judgment. Bilingual skills preferred.
