Summary Under the supervision of the Lactation Coordinator, the Lactation Consultant will educate and assist each mother to initiate and continue a successful feeding experience for her baby. Provides support and continuing education to mothers and the health care team. Education Minimum two years of formal training, in the science track of education, beyond the high school level (e.g., Associates Degree). Certification, Registration & Licensure Experience Minimum one year of experience working with breastfeeding mothers and their babies. International Board Certified Lactation Consultant experience in a hospital setting highly desired. Concord Hospital is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, depth perception, far vision, near vision, and peripheral vision. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to bodily fluids. The employee is frequently exposed to airborne pathogens. The employee is occasionally exposed to bloodborne pathogens, confined spaces, electrical hazards - shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
