10 BCFS Health and Human Services is Hiring a Community Social Service Specialist Near San Antonio, TX

Experience: 2 years administrative experience with advanced skill level in Microsoft Word and Excel is required. Advanced skill and experience in managing multiple databases and filing systems is preferred Supervises: None Summary: This position is responsible for using sound professional judgment and best practices to ensure quality services are provided to the service population especially in crisis situations while maintaining compliance with established program standards. To successfully perform this job, the employee may be expected to perform the following, with or without reasonable accommodations in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990: Essential Functions: 1. Provide full support to the Resiliency Through Healing program by ensuring the program staff have the tools they need to complete all contract requirements. 2. Maintain BCFS HHS professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in BCFS employee handbook including demonstrating respect for agency staff, clients, and community members and complying with required dress code at all times 3. Screen and provide eligibility for all incoming RTH clients for individual counseling, Single Session Walk in clinic and support groups. 4. Provides general correspondence to clients regarding scheduled/rescheduled appointments, case closures and efforts to re-engage clients into program. Is responsible for accuracy and clarity of final copy. 5. Communicates effectively and professionally by phone or face-to-face with agency staff, clients and community members. 6. Responsible for program data entry and maintenance of RTH client records, Salesforce and RTH Bookings (client registration, case file entry into Salesforce, attendance records, client evaluation, and RTH client records). 7. Work in conjunction with Program Director and Clinicians to meet required grant deliverables. 8. Attend all required meetings and trainings as applicable. 9. Reports suspected child abuse/neglect as per BCFS HHS policy. 10. Maintains familiarity and knowledge of community resources and uses these appropriately to meet needs of clients with appropriate referrals. Maintains Air table of all Community Resources. 11. Participates in community outreach in educating parents, professionals, and others about program and agency services. 12. Maintain confidential files and information as per BCFS HHS Policy. 13. Other job duties as assigned. Measurable Deliverables: 1. Field calls, emails, clients on daily basis. 2. Maintain organized client files, and support databases. 3. Maintain accurate data entry and maintenance of client information into appropriate database 4. Attend all required trainings as applicable. 5. Maintains operational office equipment, and supplies at all times. 6. Contact clients and coordinate services through documented calls. Credentials, Skills and Abilities: 1. Maintain current licenses and certificates required for the position including but not limited to:  First Aid  CPR  Other 2. Pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug screens and always maintain emotional control and professional composure. 3. Provide proof or work eligibility status upon request. 4. Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background and motor vehicle check (fingerprints needed if applicant has lived out of state within the past 5 years) 5. Demonstrate the ability to: a. Respond sensitively and competently to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics. b. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English and Spanish. c. Work in a fast-paced environment. d. Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position. e. Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team. f. Travel as needed g. Manage time effectively and efficiently. 6.
