What You Will Contribute: Are looking for a variety of janitorial work in a clean, air-conditioned manufacturing environment with stable hours? Badger Meter is hiring a Utility Worker on our manufacturing floor in Milwaukee WI on second shift (2:30pm-11:00pm M-F). This position is responsible for the support of all departments in the plant in the Milwaukee Facility. Responsible for observing safe work habits and maintaining cleanliness of work area. Communicates with supervisor his/her daily activities, anomalies in work areas, and unsafe conditions. Offers suggestions for process improvements. Work subject to process and final inspection in accordance with Badger Meter’s quality management system. May be assigned to work in other departments or perform other duties as instructed by management. Major Job Duties/Accountability: Janitor: Perform assigned/scheduled cleaning and janitorial duties to keep shop bathrooms, shop offices, shop break areas and manufacturing areas clean. Empty and clean wastebaskets, smoking area standup ashtrays, and trash containers Sweep, clean and scrub floors Dust vents, locker and furniture tops Clean and sanitize restrooms including lavatories, toilets and locker areas Replenish dispensers (paper towel, toilet paper, soap, napkin, etc). Responsible for miscellaneous other assignments which may include duties such as washing windows, walls, machines, and maintain requisition supplies. Production Utility Worker: Perform assigned scheduled trash pickups around the production floor in the Milwaukee facility. Pickup of recyclable gaylords (cardboard, and plastic) this may include some manual sorting of these materials. Loading of the recyclable trailers with these materials. Loading, unloading, and bailing using the cardboard bailer. Sidewalk and entry door snow removal as required. Assist the Maintenance department with conference room setups as needed. Pickup chip bins from Machining areas. Assist maintenance personnel with tasks as needed. Qualifications: No previous experience required High School degree preferred Basic computer skills Ability to pass internal forklift and hazmat training if applicable Ability to work independently with little supervision Maintains open communication and positive working relationships with staff Basic math skills Ability to read, write and speak English Working Conditions: Depending on the assigned department, must be able to demonstrate the ability to lift up to 60 pounds, and complete an audiogram test Competitive Total Rewards at Badger Meter: Competitive Pay Eligible for Annual Pay Increases Comprehensive Health, Vision, and Dental Coverage 15 days Paid Time Off 11 Paid Holidays Two Ways to Save for Retirement: Badger Meter contributes 25 cents for every dollar you contribute to the plan, up to 7% of your eligible compensation.
