What You Will Contribute: Set up, assist and/ or operate conventional, special-purpose, computer and numerical control CNC machines to fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts by applying knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, and layout techniques. The CNC Machinist will also be responsible for the following main accountabilities: Work from detailed instructions, blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, and specifications. Sample part to determine dimensions and tolerance of finished work piece. Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications, using precision measuring instruments. Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance machining. Adjusts machine controls, offsets, fixtures and stops as required. Set up and operate machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings. Qualifications: High School degree or equivalent 1-3 years of Lathe experience, ability to modify/optimize CNC programs Physical Requirements: Depending on assigned department must be able to meet the following physical requirements.
