Responsibilities:
- Duties/Responsibilities:
- Inspects lift trucks and equipment to determine the extent of repairs
- Performs needed repairs on gasoline, diesel, and propane engines with minimal instruction
- Inspects, adjusts, and repairs components as needed
- Repairs cooling, fuel, electrical, and exhaust systems using diagnostic tools
- Performs preventative maintenance as needed to improve the condition and performance of the fleet
- Operates equipment to troubleshoot and test equipment as needed
- Maintains records of all maintenance performed
- Assists parts department in shipping and receiving of motor freight
- Takes service calls and provides assistance when the Service Manager is unavailable
- Cleans and maintains garage area as needed
- Other related duties as required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a diesel mechanic
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and their components
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engine issues
- Experience in performing engine overhauls
- Ability to interpret repair manuals and schematics
- Good understanding of electrical systems and diagnostics
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and perform strenuous tasks
