Company DescriptionA great Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) is looking for an experienced, hard-working Licensed Occupational Therapist to join their growing team in Santa Maria, CA. The Occupational Therapist would to provide direct patient care and support activities that help people carry out their daily tasks with more confidence and independence and review the treatments periodically, evaluate progress and make changes to the treatment as needed.Job DescriptionAids in the restoration and enhancement of independent function in those individuals whose living status has been compromised by illness and/or injury: evaluates and treats patients, communicates with families, physicians and other health team members, documents services in the medical record.Contributes to professional development of self and others.Enhances interdisciplinary team through professional skills and knowledge.Demonstrates safe working practices.Provides patient treatments, which meet patient needs, and uses current treatment knowledge in clinical procedures.Writing specific, objective documentation, which is outcome oriented and details the patient’s needs, potential to benefit from treatment, and progress achieved to date. Includes specific, objective, measurable goals. Managing Medicare Medical Review and Denials process in conjunction with Director of Rehabilitation.Supervising Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and/or Aides in direct patient care and patient related activities QualificationsAvailability to work travel or full-time as a Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) in California.Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.Knowledge in Occupational Therapy evaluations and treatmentsKnowledge of use of prosthetic and orthotic devices ambulatory aides, assistive and resistive devices, and training.Knowledge in proper care for lifting and transferring patientsAbility to supervise and direct assistants and aidesKnowledge of medical termsExperience in geriatric rehabilitation preferred Experience in adult neurological, cardiac, and/or general rehabilitation is preferredAdditional InformationFor more information regarding this position please contact Teuila Palm with 1 Legacy Healthcare Recruiters at 951-251-0997cmr
