The Position

The Director of Accounting and Finance will lead and direct the company’s accounting and finance functions, including the production of periodic financial reports, developing and maintaining an adequate system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets. The Director will develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures and controls that will mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. The Director of Accounting and Finance will also develop and analyze financial performance data to provide forecasts, valuations, and financial models to support the company’s rapidly growing operations.

The Director of Accounting and Finance will report to the Chief Financial Officer and will manage a team of two.

The Director of Accounting and Finance will:

• Collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer to define and implement finance and accounting objectives and serve as business partner to the firm’s Chief Financial Officer and other members of executive management.
• Manage the company’s month-end and year-end closing processes in accordance with GAAP.
• Maintain and develop internal controls around accounting processes.
• Coordinate with the Chief Financial Officer on cash-flow forecasting, budget preparation and providing support for business models.
• Collaborate in business development projects, including profit and loss modeling, requests for quotes and other initiatives.
• Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit.
• Participate in IT projects that maximize efficiencies and automatization across the organization.
• Prepare and present the company’s Annual Report and quarterly Business Flash reports to the executive management team.
• Lead the insurance renewal process.
• Complete special projects as determined by the Chief Financial Officer and executive Management team.
• Hire, coach, train and mentor accounting and finance employees to ensure that the staff meets department requirements and company needs.

Qualifications

• A minimum of five years of accounting and financial analysis experience with dynamic and rapidly growing organizations.
• Excellent knowledge of GAAP accounting policies and procedures.
• Exceptional financial planning and analysis skills with a demonstrated record of driving innovation and improvement in forecasting and budgeting processes.
• Ability to be a proactive self-starter coupled with strong analytical skills, sound judgment and impeccable attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively and easily communicate with members of executive management and staff; ability to provide analysis that will enable the company to make well-informed business decisions.
• Must be flexible in order to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities.
• Experience with ERP systems; QuickBooks Online experience preferred.
• Experience with data analytics tools and expertise with MS Excel.
• Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines and multitask with detailed responsibilities for various aspects of the firm’s work.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; master’s and/or valid CPA preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
