We are a small sporting goods business in N. Scottsdale, AZ. We are a start-up, agile and innovative company focused on new products in the hiking/biking/outdoor recreation area.
We are looking for an accounting supervisor that is ready to step into a bigger role in the next 12-18 months. The work schedule requires you to be in the office in N. Scottsdale, AZ, on M-F.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to various departments
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
- Perform general ledger accounting and reconciliations, work with purchase orders, inventory, and receipts
- Monitor and enforce compliance with internal controls and other regulatory requirements
- Coordinate and assist with financial audits
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes
- Stay updated on industry trends, changes in accounting regulations, and best practices
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, including supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of corporate finance principles and practices
- Proficiency in general ledger accounting, financial auditing, inventory management and account reconciliation
- Experience in a manufacturing industry is required
- In depth knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise and Excel is required. Experience with Webgility and Shopify is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
