The Role
The Vice President, Medical Affairs will build and lead the medical affairs team and work cross-functionally to achieve THRD's corporate goals and ensure the successful implementation of asset level medical affairs strategies. This individual will create and communicate a vision for value creation through THB awareness, portfolio growth and ultimate market success. The role will then play a central hand in executing specific medical affairs initiatives focused on data generation, medical communications, KOL engagement, and publication strategy to support the broader MA vision.
Responsibilities
  • Lead medical affairs team using a combination of development and market access expertise to drive engagement with internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop and implement a medical affairs business plan that drives consistency and alignment across all scientific and clinical endeavors
  • Ensure clinical/scientific presence at conferences and facilitate the creation of high quality abstracts and publications that support THRD's strategic goals.
  • Lead Patient Advocacy and Engagement; develop and execute a plan to amplify corporate and medical affairs goals to patient advocacy groups for THB0335 and future assets
  • Facilitate collaborations in research to build understanding of mechanism of actions/ new targets and broaden potential indications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive brand strategy, ensuring alignment and compliance in messaging and communication strategy
  • Oversee evidence generation planning, including strategy and tactics, to support market access efforts; lead data gap identification, data dissemination and active insight collecting
  • Facilitate key processes including medical-legal-regulatory review, grant review, and investigator-initiated study (IIS) review committees
  • Lead and communicate vision to support of Medical Information and KOL mapping related activities.
  • Optimize network to execute on national and regional advisory boards strategy; attend relevant congresses to conduct scientific exchange and congress coverage.
  • Participate in the evaluation and assessment of growth opportunities (internal and external)
  • Support the development and budget oversight of medical activities for THB0335 and future assets
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and THRD Regulatory Team and policies that govern the conduct of THRD employees.
Minimum Qualifications
  • MD, PharmD, or PhD with 15 years of related experience, including relevant Medical Affairs strategy experience
  • Experienced in building and leading a Medical Affairs team
  • Demonstrated ability to present complex scientific and medical information to a range of audiences; ability to represent the needs of a broad range of stakeholders in development of real-world evidence strategy and approach.
  • A proven track record of strong writing and reviewing skills that are compliant with legal, requirements, local policies and procedures, including Good Publication Practices
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated track record of achieving results and optimizing team performance
  • Strong knowledge of US PhRMA, OIG, FDA and other relevant rules, regulations and/or guidelines relating to compliant medical engagements
  • 25-40% travel required for this role

The salary range for this role is $322,000 - $365,000.
