ST ANDREWS COUNTRY CLUB PROPERTY OWNERS... is Hiring a Cold Side - Kitchen Service Technician Near Boca Raton, FL

Position Summary:
Primary responsibilities are to troubleshoot, maintain and repair commercial kitchen and refrigeration equipment. Additional responsibilities include performing highly diversified duties like installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining facility buildings and equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems, and processes.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial kitchen and refrigeration equipment. This includes gas, electric, and water systems. Examples of equipment are but not limited to ovens, ranges, fryers, grills, ice machines, walk-in and reach in coolers and freezers, steamers, combi ovens, etc.
  • Install new kitchen equipment including connections to gas, electric and water systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and ensure safe operation.
  • Diagnose issues with performance through observation, testing and setup.
  • Keep up to date on new equipment and technology.
  • Communicate part orders and repair status with Supervisor.
  • Follow all Club policies and procedures, particularly regarding safety.
  • Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, plumbing troubleshooting and repair of club equipment and facilities.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to the Facilities Supervisor
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.

Must be available to work Monday Saturday on a 40-hour work week. Additional hours and/or overtime may be required from time to time.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Familiarity with relevant gas, plumbing and electrical codes and regulations.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a Team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Standard computer skills with ability to operate MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to competently use a variety of gauges, meters, measuring instruments, torches, and hand tools.
  • Self-motivated with a proven ability to prioritize and work independently.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Education & Work Experience Requirements:

  • A High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • A Trade School Diploma and/or Journeyman License preferred.
  • 5 years’ work experience in Kitchen Hot and Cold Equipment Service.
  • Possess CFESA Certifications in Electrical, Gas and Refrigeration.
  • EPA/NATE Certification to work on Kitchen Equipment and Refrigeration.

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to fifty pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to one hundred pounds with assistance and lift equipment.
  • Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force (pulling, pushing, lifting, carrying, etc.) regularly and up to 50 pounds of force frequently.
  • Repeated bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, and climbing up and down ladders.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasional to frequent exertion in high and low temperature environments (over heated kitchens, rooftops, outdoors, etc.).

Compensation:
Salary is commensurate with experience.
