Perinatologist, MD Monsey, NY $60,000 - 2 days / month Responsibilities :
Conduct comprehensive evaluations of pregnant women with high-risk pregnancies, including detailed medical history, physical examination, and prenatal diagnostic tests.
Diagnose and manage maternal medical conditions that may impact pregnancy outcomes, such as diabetes, hypertension, autoimmune disorders, and infectious diseases.
Monitor fetal development and well-being through advanced prenatal screening and diagnostic techniques, including ultrasound, fetal echocardiography, and genetic testing.
Perform invasive procedures, such as chorionic villus sampling (CVS), amniocentesis, and fetal blood sampling, to diagnose fetal abnormalities and genetic disorders.
Provide counseling and support to expectant parents regarding prenatal diagnosis, pregnancy complications, and treatment options.
Collaborate with obstetricians, genetic counselors, neonatologists, and other specialists to develop individualized treatment plans for high-risk pregnancies.
Coordinate multidisciplinary care for complex maternal-fetal conditions, including fetal anomalies, multiple gestations, placental abnormalities, and preterm labor.
Manage pregnancy complications such as pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, placenta previa, and intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) through medical management and fetal monitoring.
Provide fetal interventions, including intrauterine transfusions, shunting procedures, and fetal surgeries, to address specific fetal conditions and optimize outcomes.
Attend high-risk deliveries, providing obstetric support and coordination of neonatal care for premature or critically ill newborns.
Participate in research and clinical trials focused on advancing the understanding and treatment of high-risk pregnancies and fetal conditions.
Stay updated on advancements in maternal-fetal medicine research, diagnostic techniques, and therapeutic interventions through continuing education and professional development activities.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting prenatal evaluations, diagnostic tests, treatment plans, and outcomes.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and ethical standards governing maternal-fetal medicine practice.
Participate in educational initiatives, lectures, and conferences to educate healthcare professionals, students, and the community about maternal-fetal health and perinatal care.
Qualifications :
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
Completion of a fellowship program in Maternal-Fetal Medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
Board certification or eligibility for board certification in Maternal-Fetal Medicine by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) or the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (AOBOG).
State medical licensure or eligibility for medical licensure to practice maternal-fetal medicine.
Strong clinical skills and proficiency in managing high-risk pregnancies, prenatal diagnosis, and fetal therapy interventions.
