Position Description:
This position is multi-faceted due to the variety of care based services that may be provided by this staff member depending on their specific client(s), including maintaining client safety, providing or assisting with daily living and self-care skills, and behavioral health interventions as needed.
Primary job responsibility is to provide services to children or young adults with autism and/or related disorders in a 1:1 setting within the client’s home or community settings. Respite workers provide temporary care for client(s) with physical, emotional, or cognitive limitations. Your duties will include coordinating care with other caregivers and TBH team members, providing companionship, and supervising activities.
Training will be provided by the organization to ensure competence and knowledge of treatment modalities for clients. Training will cover the knowledge of CPR and first aid, trauma-informed care strategies, and behavioral health interventions used for de-escalation. A respite worker is someone who can be relied upon to perform their duties with patience and compassion

Education and/or Experience Requirements: High School Degree or equivalent and at least 18 years of age.
