The Greenbush Area YMCA in Rensselaer, NY is seeking dynamic individuals to fill the roles of Head Swim Instructor and lifeguard. These pool positions support the work of the Y, a leading charity committed to strengthening our community.

CURRENT POOL VACANCIES

• Lifeguards - Part time, various shifts available

• Swim Instructors - Part time, various shifts available

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL AQUATIC POSITIONS

• AGE RESTRICTION: Minimum age of 16 years old. NYS Working Papers required for applicants under 18 yrs old.

• TESTING: Be able to pass a CDYMCA swim test, administered by the Aquatics Director or designated individual.

• CERTIFICATIONS: Valid CPR, AED, and First Aid 

• SKILLS: Excellent organizational, communication and problem solving skills. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community

SWIM INSTRUCTOR - $15.05 PER HOUR - DELIVERS SWIM LESSONS

REQUIRED DOCUMENT(S): NYS Working Papers (Under 18 yrs old), and aquatic certifications

• Basic knowledge of computers.

LIFEGUARD - $15.05 PER HOUR - MONITORS POOL, DECK, AND SURROUNDING AREAS.

REQUIRED DOCUMENT(S): NYS Working Papers (Under 18 yrs old), and aquatic certifications

• Required Certifications: Basic life support or professional rescuer CPR/AED, Lifeguard and emergency oxygen administration

• Ability to maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness
