Dallam Hartley Counties Hospital District invites you to become an integral part of our team! We are looking for a full-time days Admissions Clerk to join our ER team. The Admissions Clerk performs admission duties for admitting out-patients and emergency patients to hospital services, processing and filing admission records, and acts as liaison with patient family members and responsible parties. 

The Admissions clerk must be available to work weekends. This position may also require night shifts. 

Essential Responsibilities

• Coordinates patient intake/admissions process for emergency department and outpatient services. 
• Obtains insurance information and collects patient payments.
• Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording and updating personal and financial information in the patient’s demographics.
• Completes admission record based on orders from a physician.
• Arranges for transportation of patients to the appropriate in-patient or out-patient facilities. 
• Makes appropriate financial arrangements if patient is not able to pay full amount due. 
• Notifies department of services or tests that are ordered and/or need scheduled. 
• Obtains medical records, as needed, to assist the clinical staff provide care to patients.
