TITLE: Level I Technician

QUALIFICaTIONS: 1. Associates Degree in computer science, information technology, or related field

2. Experience providing general computer and/or network installation, maintenance and repair

  • Experience with Windows administration and Active Directory
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and must be able to drive to all school facilities, using own vehicle

REPORTS TO: Manager of Technology Services

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

To assist the Level II Technician(s) and Technology Integration Specialist in:

  • Provides technical support for hardware, software and systems as needed; responds and works to resolve all technology trouble tickets.
  • Performs help desk functions providing advice, direction, or remote assistance.
  • Provides face-to-face, phone and remote support to for instructional technology in the classroom.
  • Supports, both technical and clerical, the IIT Department.
  • Installs, assembles and configures computers, monitors and peripherals such as printers, scanners and related hardware; configures and upgrades operating systems and software
  • Troubleshoots problems with computer systems, including hardware and software, email, network and peripheral equipment problems; makes repairs and corrections where required.
  • Troubleshoots and maintains staff and student user accounts, permissions, security.
  • Coordinates and manages student and staff user accounts in all web-based and networked instructional software systems.
  • Assists with the district website and all web-published technologies used within the district; providing account and security management, classroom and departmental page support, and training to all website authors.
  • Identifies and troubleshoots voice-related issues for vendor/provider trouble-ticket submission.
  • Maintains intercom, bells, clocks, CCTV, and CATV distribution system
  • Assists staff members in the operation of software and technology equipment including but not limited to computers and computer software, peripherals, data network, video network, communications systems, videoconference equipment, and audio/video equipment.
  • Assists with district-wide technology initiatives as requested by TIS. (i.e. district virus or other threat sweep, inventory, new computer setup, etc.)
  • Documents problems, time spent, and solutions in the IT management system & knowledgebase.
  • Performs all other duties and assignments applicable, as directed by the TIS or Director of Information and Instructional Technology.

Pay: From $17.13 per hour
