Make-Ready Technician

We are looking for dynamic, friendly, and positive team members to join our team.

Apartment Management Professionals (AMP) proudly manages first-rate communities in some of the most desirable locations throughout Austin.

The Make-Ready Technician will assist the Maintenance Director in preparing and turning over units for residents. This involves performing general maintenance and repairs to ensure apartment units and other property facilities are in good working order. Responsible for assisting with operation troubleshooting, diagnostics, housekeeping, and repairs on the apartment property.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for the completion of all maintenance service requests as assigned.
  • Monitor and ensure apartment units are turned in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Able to work and follow make ready and punch checklist.
  • Identify and service any problems and/or repairs for basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, replace and/or fix toilets, light switches and fixtures, garbage disposals, ceiling fans, trash out vacant units, caulk/grout, check appliances and smoke detectors, clean air conditioning vents, replace filter, etc.
  • Install and remove appliances, ceiling fans, light fixtures, and blinds.
  • Perform touch-up paint exterior and interior duties as needed, etc.
  • Respond to tenant requests in a timely manner, delivering excellent customer service.
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and local laws. Consistently abide by Fair Housing regulations.
  • Performs all other duties as required and assigned.

SKILLS and REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledgeable of basic electric, plumbing, drywall/paint, carpentry, ceramic/tile, and appliance installation/removal and repairs.
  • Experience in turnovers/make-readies of vacant units in multifamily industry a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized and meet deadlines.
  • Able to work on-call and for extended hours, including after-hours and weekends, if necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • General office and workroom conditions.
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, squat, kneel for extended periods of time and lift over 50 pounds.

  • Exposure to weather conditions when walking and working on the property.
