As a member of the Vascular Access Team, the Entry-Level Vascular Access Specialist ensures bedside nurses are properly caring for vascular access devices across the hospital. Using a company iPad, each line is checked and documented daily; our charting system analyzes and shares the data with company and hospital leadership to aid our collective efforts to prevent CABSI. The Entry-Level Vascular Access Specialist works collaboratively with floor staff on units across the hospital and is supported by the Vascular Access Specialist on duty. The Entry-Level Vascular Access Specialist will spend 60% of their time checking lines and 40% of their time training with our Vascular Access Specialist to learn how to place US-guided lines. Once competent in line placements, the Entry-Level Vascular Access Specialist will graduate to become a Vascular Access Specialist.

The Entry-Level Vascular Access Specialist RN candidate requirements:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Comfortable with patient communication
  • Knowledge of CVAD care and maintenance based in best practices based on national standards and guidelines
  • Comfortable with giving and receiving direct feedback
  • Comfortable using digital communication technology
  • Nursing license in the state of Virginia
  • BLS certification

Pay: $55.00 per hour
