Somewhere Nowhere NYC is a sophisticated two-level indoor lounge & open air rooftop pool perched high in the heart of Chelsea. This whimsical garden-inspired lounge provides a magical getaway from the busy streets and sounds of NYC without having to leave the city.

POSITION SUMMARY 

Join our team as an Event Operations Manager, where you'll collaborate closely with our Event Sales team to ensure flawless event execution, fostering repeat business opportunities. Your role encompasses the administration, coordination, and flawless execution of all private and semi-private events.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of managerial experience in high-volume event operations in a or high-volume Nightclub/Restaurant Environment
  • Must have strong leadership skills
  • Excellent food and beverage knowledge 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Email and phone professionalism 
  • Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications 
  • Team player within a collaborative environment 
  • Must be positive/solution-oriented
  • Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects and effectively perform within tight time constraints
  • Ability to successfully perform in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have strong attention to detail and quality of work
  • Ability to deliver gracious hospitality, excellent customer service and work with a variety of personalities
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
  • Ability to build relationships and work in a team environment
  • Ability to work under pressure & meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Must be effective as part of a team; ability to interact with internal and external customers, managers, and co-workers in a professional, courteous manner
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to handle face fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to push and lift up to 25 lbs

Essential Functions of the position include, but not limited to:

  • Possesses high-level organizational and detail-oriented skills
  • Effectively communicate information through written & oral communication with client, hotel / venue contacts and
  • Demonstrates outstanding expertise, management and consultation skills when conducting business with clients, vendors, and team members
  • Maintaining a thorough understanding of event procedures and the overall operating style of the company
  • Supervises Event Staff to ensure proper execution of the event with a high level of guest satisfaction
  • Provides good example and maintains accountability of day-to-day operations
  • Attend site visits, pre-planning meetings, and appropriate venue meetings as necessary to support the guest event experience
  • Appropriately communicates/delegates with Managers and Supervisors to ensure all work is done according to the standards set
  • Maintains clean and organized storage facilities, while keeping accurate inventory counts of all supplies
  • Generate final Event Check and held accountable to obtain any balance due on account immediately upon completion of event
  • Must have strong leadership skills
  • Must be positive/solution oriented

  • Ability to successfully perform in high stress, fast-paced environment Must have strong attention to detail and quality of work
  • Attends pre-event meetings to understand group needs, set appropriate expectations and gather critical information to communicate to the floor team.

  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
  • Ability to build relationships and work in a team environment
