**POSITION SUMMARY:**

The Sr Buyer position will be responsible for procurement of goods & services required to assure compliance of production schedule and customer satisfaction for Oilgear. This position is responsible for monitoring the flow of Purchased items, availability, and delivery of components to avoid material shortages and production downtime, as well as manage inventory levels to meet Production demands and inventory targets. The Senior Buyer will evaluate and determine the best supplier, pricing and delivery for those products and services. The Senior Buyer will take a more active role in Cost savings and sourcing projects to ensure compliance to Oilgears goals and objectives.

**RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:**

* Purchase production parts through use of the Epicor system.

* Create and process purchase orders for goods and services to support production schedule and inventory requirements.

* Track and maintain proper levels of stocked inventory.

* Identify and Implement process improvement initiatives for department.

* Communicate with engineering group to ensure bill of material accuracy.

* Sourcing of new vendors and alternative material while meeting product specifications.

* Assist in identifying cost savings initiatives with suppliers to meet company goals and objectives.

* Expedite the movement of parts to meet customer shipping dates.

* Communicate to management status of work in progress, material availability and potential production problems to ensure materials and equipment are available to support production schedule.

**QUALIFICATIONS:**

* 3-5 years of related manufacturing procurement work experience

* Good organizational skills and the ability to work within a fast-paced environment

* Strong problem-solving skills

* Ability to multitask

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

* Must be proactive

* Must be able to negotiate price with suppliers

* Experience with all Microsoft applications

* Ability to analyze quotations for best sourcing options

* Basic understanding of ISO quality systems

* BA/BS Degree Preferred
