R C M INDUSTRIES INC is Hiring a Tool Room Lead Near Liberty, SC
The Tool Room Lead manages and reviews the activities of Tool Room personnel. They will also ensure die preparations are completed per checklists and die-specific requirements, following priority set by the Materials department. Make recommendations for improvements to Tool Room operation and equipment.
Reports to: Tool Room Supervisor / Manager
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide positive leadership to the shift.
- Onsite attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Ensure that tool room conforms to safety policies, and that tool room personnel perform work in safe manner (use PPE, employ safe lifting techniques, ensure eye bolt condition, etc.).
- Ensure that die PM's result in capable tooling available for production by conforming to standards defined in die PM checksheets.
- Schedule and prioritize tool room work for the shift based on input from production control, tool room supervisor, die cast supervisor and other appropriate personnel.
- Ensure that all documentation is completed in a timely and accurate manner by the employee preforming the work.
- Evaluate and develop personnel, and work with Supervisor to identify training needs.
- Support production on tooling related problems in a timely fashion.
- Ensure that department conforms to procedures and that personnel follow work instructions.
- Evaluate equipment and provide recommendations to Tool Room Supervisor.
- Identify problems and recommend improvements to tooling to Tool Room Supervisor.
- Train new employees.
- Assign responsibilities for tool repair.
- Use of statistical tools appropriate to department.
- Interpretation of control charts appropriate to department.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including die storage area.
- Participate in meetings, offer opinions and support to other departments as needed.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- 2 to 4 Years in a Tool Room role in a die casting environment
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office and CAD
- Forklift Certified
- Crane Certified
- Tooling design and/or mold making experience
- Capable of reading blueprints
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Basic
- (IL & NC) PPE Die Cast
- Hearing Conservation
- Respiratory Protection
- Lockout/Tagout Authorized
- Machine Safety/Guarding
- Forklift Safety
- Fall Protection
- Cranes, Ladders, & Lifting Devices Affected
