Job Title: Clinical Support Specialist Weekly Hours: Full-Time, 30 hrs/wk Supervised by: Clinical Manager Posting: Internal & External / Location: Parkside Verdae/Remote Position Overview: The Clinical Admin rep will predominately manage FMLA and short-term disability processes, including understanding the letter of the law for employees, specifically as it relates to pregnancy and gynecologic operations. The Clinical Admin rep will also be responsible in helping with various other clinical administrative tasks. This position will report to the clinical manager. The position requires strong attention to detail, excellent verbal and written skills, organizational skill with the ability to meet deadlines and a basic understanding of federal, state and local laws regarding workplace law. Responsibilities:
Supports day to day requests for short-term disability and FMLA paperwork and serves as the primary point of contact for questions or concerns regarding patient paperwork.
Demonstrates good working knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and Short-Term Disability (STD) programs to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local statuses, rules and regulations.
Process, document and maintain FMLA and short-term disability forms requested, following written guidelines, and returning paperwork within 10 days of receiving.
Exhibits good judgement in interpreting medical information provided by providers and applying this information in determining an individual’s capacity to perform their essential job functions.
Responsible for filing Physical Therapy Prior Authorizations.
Responds promptly to patient calls/emails regarding disability and FMLA paperwork.
Communicates detailed information clearly and compassionately to patients.
Communicates clearly with clinicians and insurers regarding patient’s plan-of-care.
Performs other clinical admin related duties as assigned.
Education & Certifications:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred; High School Diploma required
Skills & Experience
1 year(s) of experience working in a medical office
Strong organizational skills, communication skills, analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent with multitasking and prioritizing workload based on deadlines.
Working knowledge of federal, state and local laws regarding workplace law.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records.
Working knowledge of medical terminology.
Environmental/Working Conditions: Ability to work in an environment with exposure to potentially dangerous/infectious materials and situations that require following extensive safety may be required and/or hours may be shortened as business needs dictate. Physical Demands: Ability to perform moderate physical activity. May require handling/lifting objects (up to 50 pounds) or standing/sitting/walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
