Western Lehigh Transport is Hiring a Foreman-Hardscape/Landscape Near Allentown, PA

The Foreman will supervise and coordinate crews to ensure well-maintained grounds, proper use of tools, and responsible allocation of resources. They will also assign tasks, train workers, and monitor performance. The Foreman is responsible for the installation and management of landscape projects from inception to completion, and for the hardscaping and masonry work in commercial and residential settings. The Foreman shall assist the Designers with pre-install estimating and decision making, onsite layout, and efficient and precise installation and completion of each project. The Foreman directs seasonal staff on assigned site(s) before/during/after a snow/ice storm to ensure services are performed according to the contract and scope of work and are entered into our systems.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Ability to work outdoors in all conditions.

CDL – A with a reputable driving record and proficient heavy equipment operating skills.

Knowledge of landscape/hardscape plans and construction details.

Ability to effectively and efficiently use specialized equipment, including but not limited to: skid loader, laser levels, concrete saws, chain saws, hand tools, excavators, etc.

Knowledge and experience in installing a variety of hardscape applications, perennials, shrubs, trees.

Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work effectively with individuals of differing knowledge and backgrounds.

Punctual, dependable, self-driven, detail orientated, good time management and professional appearance.

Ability to communicate instructions and delegate to staff.

Ability to read plans and effectively communicate with the designers and crew.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE

Snow plowing experience.

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.

2 years’ experience as a Foreman.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Hardscape/Landscape:

Supervise and perform residential/commercial hardscape/landscape projects from start to completion.

Coordinate job activities and materials, ensure proper procedures and company policies are followed through the entire job, and drive and maintain our company work trucks and equipment.

Manage and perform hardscape/landscape jobs including all aspects of projects (excavation, hardscaping, planting, lighting, installation of patio pavers, walkways, retaining walls, wood construction, and audio etc.).

Install and complete major hardscape construction projects.

Management of the workforce of your projects (1-5 people).

Train crew members on best practices of installation and company standards.

Communicate production goals with crew members and clients.

Produce $400,000 - $600,000 in Landscape Production per year.

Maintain a minimum profitability of 10% on all projects.

Maintain cleanliness of job sites, vehicles, and equipment.

Daily Log sheets.

Supervise nightly shop closure as scheduled.

Communicate and facilitate material for the following day’s work schedule prior to shut down.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Snow:

Attracting talent, setting training standards and assisting in hiring procedures.

Analyze and improve organizational processes, quality, productivity, and efficiency.

Install Satellite Salt Bins.

Ensure Equipment expansion is done and complete for season.

Ensure all properties are marked prior to the first storm of the season.

Ensure all equipment is serviced and in the proper location for storm operations.

Ensure all employees are briefed and ready for a storm.

Work with Ownership to establish Storm Plan.

Preform snow and ice removal and management services to territory assigned.

Ensure other territory managers are performing proper services to ensure quality is high and efficient.

Communicate with Ownership, General Manager and Subcontractors.

Ensure proper account cleanup is scheduled and performed.

Ensure trucks and equipment are properly cleaned and serviced and ready for the next storm.

Work with mechanics to ensure proper maintenance of machines and trucks is done.

Ensure spot salting schedule is established and executed.

Ensure all snowplow damage is corrected at the end of the season.

Ensure all plow markers are cleaned up and returned.

Perform other duties as assigned.

BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION

Annual Salary: XXXXX Base Salary Per Year / Paid Bi-weekly XXXXXX.

Group Medical, Vision, Dental Health Insurance offered after 60 days of full-time employment Company Pays ½ of Employee Medical Health Insurance cost and up to $1,000 per month for employee and dependent coverage.

Simple IRA with 3% company match of employee contribution offered after 60 days of full-time employment.

Vacation Days: 2 Weeks (ten days) Paid Vacation Days after 90 days of full-time employment – accrual rules apply.

Paid Holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday, and Christmas Day.

Managed Volume Compensation for Snow Accounts – a percentage of gross volume manages will be paid out in the last pay period of June for snow removal accounts that were your responsibility during the previous winter season – Percentage of gross volume managed XXXXXXX.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
