Located in Homewood, Alabama, Vulcan Park Animal Care is a full-service veterinary medical facility for both companion pets and exotics. We are looking for kennel technicians to join our team.
Were in need of a part time or full time kennel technician. Must be able to interact with dogs and cats while providing a clean, safe, and healthy environment for them by carrying out the following tasks. Must be able to work as needed on the weekends and on holidays. We are open 7 am- 6 pm Mondays - Fridays, 7am - 12pm on Saturdays, 4pm - 6pm on Sundays and kennel staff would come both am and pm on Saturdays and Sundays for kennel tasks. We are hiring immediately for this job and pay is based on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Feeds and gives water to dogs and cats
- Cleans and disinfects kennels, dog runs, cat condos, food and water containers.
- Wash laundry, clean pets food bowls, mop lobby floors and remove trash.
- letting dogs out in the yard
- bathing pets
- holding/lifting pets for exams, etc.
- Monitor animal behavior and report any changes to the veterinarian.
- Administer medications as prescribed by the veterinarian.
- Ensure that all safety protocols are followed.
- **must be able to lift at least 50 lbs**
- **must be able to work weekends and holidays if needed**
