Medical Consulting Group has an opening in our Revenue Cycle Management Division for a full-time Medical Billing Specialist – Insurance Accounts Receivable. This position has the potential to be cross trained in other areas of revenue cycle.

Regularly you will . . .

• Respond to any client/management emails or calls within 24 hours
• Monitor fax machine/scan folders for client paperwork/information
• Print and submit primary paper claims and forward to insurance with any supporting documentation as needed following the claim submission process
• Print and submit secondary paper claims with the primary payer EOB to the secondary payer when required
• Run AR aging reports
• Monitor insurance website to determine status on outstanding accounts and determine next steps and follow the outstanding AR process
• Run denial and rejection reports
• Work rejections daily through the clearinghouse (Waystar or TriZetto) following the rejection process
• Work denials daily following the denial process
• Correct claim denials following the reconsideration and appeal process to resubmit to the insurance carrier
• Review refunds and adjustments following the refund and adjustment processes

Success in this position will require . . .

• Understanding of patient confidentiality laws and what approvals are required to release information
• Understanding and willingness to abide by billing compliance regulations
• Experience in medical billing, collections, and medical insurance
• Experience with ambulatory surgery centers or a medical practice
• Professional attitude and high attention to detail
• Strong computer skills
